Sellick Partnership has been assigned to recruit a permanent Finance Business Partner for a very successful and instantly recognisable retail business based in Manchester. The business has outperformed their competitors over the past few years and will continue to do so by driving their strategic plan, delivering further improvements and changes that will make a real impact on the whole business.

This is an all-encompassing role that will make a visible impact on the success of the business, providing commercial insight into some key performance drivers and financial plans. You will work with multiple stakeholders to provide ad-hoc analysis to improve business profitability. Looking at the three year financial plans, you will develop and adjust areas to best grow the business.

You will partner with key business directors offering professional advice and guidance. Sharing a range of information with these stakeholders, you will develop the transformation and operational programmes to drive cost improvement.

To be successful in the role you will need a strong commercial focus, questioning mind and an ability to conduct financial modelling. This could come from a range of scenarios including; working as a consultant, being an expert financial professional or doing a commercial role in a large complex organisation.

The role

* Partnering with key stakeholders both financial and non-financial to provide expert advice on a range of areas

* Work on large cost forecasts to support the future success of the firm

* Continuously meet with key partners in the business to ensure the financial strategy is being achieved and embedded

* Work on both continuous and ad-hoc reporting and analysis to aid key decision making projects

* Provide specialist financial advice where needed

The person

The successful applicant will be a qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA or CIMA) either making their first move from practice (top 4) or from a highly commercial Analyst position who has strong experience in retail, multisite, leisure or FMCG industry sectors.

You will need to be confident in asking searching questions of peers and managers and do so in the right manner; be collaborative and understand the power of working cross functionally with the ability to think differently and inspire change; have a proven track record of financial modelling and building investment business cases in excel.

The role requires an ambitious and proactive individual who enjoys applying a strong commercial focus, with the ability to build robust and productive relationships, providing support and challenge across all functions and liaising with senior management.

If you consider yourself to be a committed, career driven professional who can demonstrate the above experience and who would welcome the stimulus of this commercial finance post then we would be pleased to hear from you.
