This is an interim role until the end of March 2021 (£500p/d) and whilst the role is based in Manchester you will be expected to travel around the Southern region. You must be immediately available and have significant experience as a Finance Business Partner within an FMCG, logistics operations or multisite organisation.

You will partner with both the divisional head of logistics and the head of national transport to set the finance strategy for their areas and identify the key business drivers to improve performance. General duties include:-

  • Develop financial plans, ensuring robust financial control
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis support for business initiatives
  • Provide insights and understanding of performance drivers
  • Drive a high-performance management culture across the regional division to optimise business profitability
  • Translate complex data and problem statements into meaningful insights to help inform decision making and future actions
  • Develop high-quality insights to advise leaders; tell a story with data and insight to shape business decisions
  • Work on cross-finance projects to deliver improvements to control, reporting and insights
  • Simplify business reporting and planning so finance processes are lean and effective
  • Lead and coach a team of site-level finance managers and analysts across multiple sites

The successful applicant will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified coming from a similar role and being able to demonstrate your operational and commercial finance ability to really drive commercial benefit and add value to the financials. Experience within the retail, FMCG, multisite, logistics or distribution sectors is essential.

You will have strong business partnering, stakeholder management and communication skills and in particular the ability to direct senior level individuals. Proven success in influencing strategic business decisions and driving significant improvements to business performance is essential.

Focussed on delivering specific objectives, being proactive, dynamic and self-motivated with a desire to find and deliver improvements. In addition you will have the ability to work independently and together with other personnel both finance and non-finance.

You will have a creative and innovative approach to problem solving and analysis; delivery orientated - able to work in pressurised environments, meet multiple deadlines and manage own priorities.

You will also be able to demonstrate business acumen and ability to gain knowledge across the breadth of a variety of functions. You will also be able to take a 'big picture' view with demonstrable internal consultancy and influencing skills, while possessing a keen eye for the detail.

If you consider yourself to be a committed, career driven professional who can demonstrate the above experience and who would welcome the stimulus of this commercial finance post then we would be pleased to hear from you.
