Sellick Partnership are exclusively recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a reputable SME in the southern Tamworth area. This is a newly created position and will be responsible for the financial management of company operations, providing leadership and coordination in the business planning, accounting and controls within the company.

This is an exciting role working with a growing, market leading SME. There is minimal management information reporting in place so lots of scope to really make a name for one's self in the business/group. Currently, a lot of the accounting services are outsourced, so a key requirement of the role initially is to internalise those services smoothly in to the business and create management information that is required for group financial reporting purposes on a monthly basis.

Duties of the Finance Manager include:

  • Develop the financial planning platform for the business
  • Lead the financial planning process
  • Preparation and submission of yearly and half yearly statutory accounts to group
  • To produce monthly management accounts and commentaries to group deadlines
  • Ensure trade debtors are effectively managed and internal credit control policies are adhered to
  • Manage relationships with all financial stakeholders (banks, auditors, group finance etc.)
  • Develop systems to ensure the efficient and effective management of the financial ledgers and accounting processes
  • Manage and mentor direct reports, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Monitor the cash & working capital of the business
  • Prepare and evaluate capex proposals

The successful candidate will:

  • Have proven experience working within an SME environment, completing duties as above - essential
  • Be qualified in either CIMA/ACCA - essential
  • Have manufacturing experience - essential
  • Have people management experience - essential
  • Be IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft office applications
  • Hold excellent organisational and prioritising skills
  • Be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Have strong communication skills
