Sellick Partnership are recruiting on behalf of a charity, based in South Manchester, for a Finance Manager. The core purpose for the role is to manage the day to day running of the Finance Department, working with the values of the organisation to provide leadership to the Finance Team across all sites. You will take responsibility for the preparation of the annual statutory accounts and the consolidated accounts.

Key responsibilities for the Finance Manager:

  • Work closely with the Head of Finance to ensure financial systems and procedures are effective, current and operate in line with legislation and the requirements of external bodies
  • Oversee the timely preparation of the management accounts
  • Monitor variances from the budget and highlight these to the Head of Finance
  • Supervise the purchase ledger process, taking responsibility to ensure deadlines are met
  • Supervise the monthly direct debit collection process, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines
  • Review the organisation's status in terms of VAT registration
  • Assist the Head of Finance in the annual budgeting and planning process
  • Monitor working capital

Required skills and experience of the Finance Manager

  • Be a qualified member of an accountancy body
  • Have extensive experience in the production of both management accounts and statutory accounts
  • Have experience of the preparation of VAT
  • Have strong IT skills and be aware of new technologies and innovations
  • Be energetic and highly motivated
