Finance Manager (Risk & Control)
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
Sellick Partnership has been assigned to recruit a Finance Manager for a successful and instantly recognisable business based in Manchester. The business has outperformed their competitors over the past few years and will continue to do so by driving their strategic plan, delivering further improvements and changes that will make a real impact on the whole business.
As Finance Manager for Risk and Controls, you will be the risk specialist who will be the main link and point of contact within the risk function to bring in and embed best practice across finance. You will provide a solid control framework and governance, as well as support in other key areas such as business continuity or data protection. This role requires a self-motivated and focused person who will quickly establish themselves as a key contact challenging the status quo and striving for best practice.
- be the risk subject matter specialist, providing the key link and engagement with risk and audit functions and bringing in and embedding standard methodology and solid risk governance
- maintain and review the financial control framework, monitoring and reporting of all actions appropriately to ensure compliance
- work with colleagues across finance to meet risk management objectives, actions and timelines
- co-ordinate and track finance risk category framework requirements by updating policies, risk appetite and metrics
- support the team on key projects, including SAP Finance, providing a risk and control perspective
- build relationships with key partners and leaders across the business
- mentor and support the development of the team
The successful applicant will be ACA or ACCA or CIMA qualified and have a background in a similar Finance Managerial role or making your first move from a top4 practice firm.
A strong understanding of finance risk and control frameworks and governance is essential and any SOX experience would be advantageous.
You will possess good leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and support teams across finance coupled with building positive relationships with teams and leaders across the business to work collaboratively.
Ideally, you will have experience from a similar dynamic and complex business and have the ability to juggle multiple conflicting priorities, working to tight deadlines. More importantly, you will have the ability to build successful relationships with partners across the business.
