An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance Operations Coordinator to join a prestigios public sector organisation in Newcastle upon Tyne. The Finance Operations Coordinator will be on a 3 month contract until the end of July - with the strong possibility of becoming permanent (depending on internal promotions activity).

The business is focused on delivering three strategic aims - to provide as many good quality homes as we can; to deliver excellent service to our customers; and to shape strong, sustainable places for our communities. Their footprint covers the North East of England and Yorkshire, south from the Scottish border to almost as far as the Humber, where diverse communities face differing opportunities and challenges.


  • Undertake the efficient, effective and accurate processing of purchase ledger invoices, ensuring adherence to a specified month end timetable
  • Perform monthly creditor statements checks where applicable, undertake regular maintenance of creditor accounts through generation of reports to agreed timescales and carry out monthly reconciliation of the creditor accounts
  • Prepare and issue sundry payments in accordance with agreed procedures and appropriate authorisation
  • Prepare the timely and accurate processing of cashbooks and direct debits
  • Reconciliation of both bank and debtor control accounts within agreed timescales for production
  • of management accounts
  • Prepare the schedule of payments to suppliers within the agreed timescales
  • Preparation of the daily bank statements, including updating of the sales ledger

You'll ideally be immediately available or able to join with a weeks' notice. The business is Newcastle based however the majority of the team are working from home or in a hybrid manner.
