Financial Accountant

Sellick Partnership are actively recruiting for a Financial Accountant, reporting to the Head of Financial Services, working for an established fast paced Not for Profit client.

The main purpose of the Financial Accountant

  • Producing the individual company statutory accounts and consolidating group accounts
  • Co-ordinating the management accounts pack and reporting to directors and executives
  • Production of financial information for statutory and regulatory financial returns Setting and managing timetables for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, and for budget setting
  • To maintain a system of quality assurance over financial processes both within the department and across the wider business

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce the monthly balance sheet and co-ordinate all balance sheet reconciliations
  • Responsible for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable services
  • To set and embed a high support/high challenge culture in line with the Competency framework in order to support and develop your team, to ensure effective service delivery
  • Write reports to enable meaningful extraction of information from the core finance systems
  • Calculate and apply the management recharge of group overhead costs across group companies
  • Maintain the chart of accounts in the core financial system, which wil allow enhanced financial reporting through the accounting system
  • To prepare the Group's VAT, Corporation Tax and returns
  • To ensure the financial processes are fit for purpose and encourage the use of direct reporting from systems
  • To set, monitor and deliver of KPIs across the department, aiming to deliver continuous improvement
  • To deliver value for money and manage resources effectively and efficiently, ensuring targets are met

Experience, Key Skills and Personal Attributes:

  • Experience of preparing statutory accounts
  • Experience of report writing within a financial system to extract financial data
  • Experience of manipulating large volumes of data for multiple scenarios
  • Proven relationship builder with stakeholders
  • Strong IT skills and proficient in excel
  • Self-reliant and resilient Commercial awareness and insight
