Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a Financial Accountant for an instantly recognisable service business based in Manchester. The business has been consistently growing over the past few years and will continue to outperform their competitors by driving their strategic plans further. The finance team plays a critical role in this transformation which has led to the need for a technically strong individual to enhance their skills.
You will play a vital role in helping to drive continuous improvement in accounting and financial control and delivering all statutory reporting across the business. You will also play a key role in ensuring consistent accounting practices and high standards across the business, producing timely and accurate information and proactively supporting the businesses.
You will produce statutory accounts, prepare and review monthly consolidated financial results, produce weekly cashflow forecasts, co-ordinating tax pack information, run and continually improve the fixed asset impairment models, produce and review a variety of high quality balance sheet control account reconciliations and work with the team to analyse and interpret results plus, making sure the business is paying the right VAT and submitting an accurate quarterly VAT return. You will also work closely with internal colleagues across the business, as well as external auditors during group and statutory audits
It is expected that the successful candidate will be dynamic and able to thrive in a fast-paced organisation, where initiative and ability to identify areas of improvement are promoted.
The successful applicant will be a proactive, fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or ICAS) either making their first move from practice (top 10) or have previous experience in financial control or a financial accounting environment with a broad knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and statutory accounts. Experience of balance sheet control account reconciliation and cash flow forecast preparation would be desirable.
Due to the nature of this position it is necessary that the successful individual is able to communicate with staff at all levels the ability to present information in a clear simplified way to both finance and non-finance colleagues, whilst maintaining their own work load. Focussed on delivering specific objectives, you will be proactive, adaptable, dynamic and self-motivated with a desire to find and deliver improvements.
