Manager - Financial Business Modelling and Analytics

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000

Location: Manchester (hybrid working)

Duration: Permanent

Sellick Partnership has been assigned on an exclusive basis to recruit a permanent Manager - Financial Business Modelling and Analytics for a very successful and instantly recognisable business based in Manchester.

The business has outperformed their competitors over the past few years and will continue to do so by driving their strategic plan, delivering further improvements and changes that will make a real impact on the whole business.

Reporting into the Head of Commercial Finance, you will play a key role in supporting the business in strategic decision making by preparing robust financial modelling and market assessments. You will work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.

Responsibilities include:-

  • Develop financial models and assist in strategic initiatives for critical decisions using Excel, Cognos or Anaplan
  • Act as the main point of contact for all financial modelling across the business
  • Implement and recommend process improvements to budget and forecast
  • Performing sensitivity analysis
  • Supporting analytics for strategy
  • Creating high quality presentations
  • Establishing standardised test and learn modelling
  • Liaising with heads of and execs to establish learnings, evaluate opportunities and maximise investments
  • Developing a 'common language for data and analysis, including data dictionaries, data vocabularies and taxonomies
  • Assimilate and apply new techniques and knowledge to achieve business outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of our thriving Data and Analytics Architecture culture

To get going quickly in this role, you will need to have significant experience of excel and high-quality financial modelling (leading a data modelling workshop, creating models and reviewing output with stakeholders).

Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills coupled with experience of contributing to proposal writing and presentations is essential. Experience of Cognos and Anaplan would be preferential.

The successful applicant will ideally be a qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA or CIMA) preferably from a Top4 / consultancy background.

The role requires an ambitious and proactive individual who enjoys applying a strong commercial focus, with the ability to build robust and productive relationships, providing support and challenge across all functions and liaising with senior management.
