Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join a well-established client based in Crewe, on an interim basis. The contract will be for 12-15 months and they require candidates with corporate backgrounds for the role.

The duties of the Financial Controller include:

  • Managing the preparation of monthly management accounts under tight reporting deadlines
  • Finance business partnering with entities and working with the FP&A team, commercial team and in-country sales
  • Preparing, investigating and explaining variances to budgets and forecasts
  • Managing a junior finance team of two
  • Maintaining a strong accounting control environment via monthly balance sheet reconciliation process
  • Preparing the annual financial statements and liaising with the tax team on the corporation tax for five entities

The ideal Financial Controller will have:

  • Proven experience of Financial Controller duties and a qualification in ACCA/ACA/CIMA, but QBE will be considered
  • Experience of and being comfortable of working in a large finance team and the ability to liaise with a peer group of Financial Controllers
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge
  • High level of IT literacy, including the use of databases
  • Flexible approach and willingness to get involved
  • Astute attention to detail, ensuring that as far as possible items presented are right first time
