Sellick Partnership is currently working with a rapidly growing business, to recruit a Financial Controller on an exclusive basis. Our hugely exciting client is a very successful and instantly recognisable retail / wholesale business based between Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. In this current uncertain time, our client, and the wider group, have performed exceptionally well, and are in a strong financial position.

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic individual to provide leadership, drive change and manage a large financial control team. The role is responsible for all aspects of accounting, financial control and reporting of actual results as well as leading on all financial control change programmes.

We look to this role to oversee the streamlining of core processes, increase the integrity of controls and create a centre of excellence for finance. The role plays a key part in landing important changes to the finance culture.

The person

The successful applicant will be a qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA or CIMA) ideally from a top10 firm, who has significant experience within the financial control function and be able to demonstrate previous team leadership, with ability to delegate effectively, through a transformational change process which has resulted in delivering results.

You will be highly technical with the energy and enthusiasm to lead, motivate, develop and influence a team to ensure an effective working environment, colleague commitment and consistently high performance, while acting as a role model for company values. You will have a keen eye for detail and, will have experience and evidence of driving change and transformation of controls and process improvements with tangible business benefits.

You will be resilient and comfortable engaging, challenging and influencing senior stakeholders. Therefore, you will have to show experience of building and managing meaningful relationships and presenting at major meetings, including exec meetings, as you will be challenging the status quo.

It is essential that you have experience in a large complex retail, wholesale, multisite or FMCG business. Previous exposure to a group reporting structure would be advantageous for this role.
