Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a Financial Controller for a fast growth organisation in the equipment hire sector in North Manchester. The business has seen consistent growth over the past few years even through 2020, and are looking to deliver significant growth in 2021 through means of acquisition and organic methods.
The finance team plays a critical role in this transformation which has led to the need for a technically and commercially strong Financial Controller working closely with the FD to take the business to the next level.
As the Financial Controller you will play a vital role in improving and developing financial control and delivering all statutory reporting for the equipment rental division and across the group. You will prepare annual and interim reports including exposure to subsidiary statutory accounts. Working closely with the divisional and group FD's (succession planning) you will also gain commercial exposure through organic growth opening new sites but also M&A.
General duties but not limited to:
- Complete and review complex balance sheet reconciliations across the group
- Be a leader of excellence across a range of areas, encouraging and influencing other members of the team to implement best practice
- Play a key role in producing the annual and interim reports
- Produce and review divisional statutory accounts
- Modelling for future growth
- Get exposure to M&A, Due Diligence and Strategy
- Liaising with various stakeholders including the current auditors
- Prepare year end accounts and tax packs for all subsidiaries
The successful Financial Controller will be a personable, proactive, fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with previous equipment hire / rental industry experience with a broad knowledge of accounting standards and statutory accounts.
Due to the nature of the Finance Managers position it is necessary that the successful individual is able to communicate with staff at all levels, whilst maintaining their own work load. Focussed on delivering specific objectives, you will be proactive, adaptable, dynamic and self-motivated with a desire to find and deliver improvements.
