General Litigation Lawyer
£26.30ph PAYE x 42 hours per week
Contract - Full-time
General Litigation Lawyer with judicial review experience required to join HMRC in London for a minimum of 12 months with a likely extension. The successful candidate will be dealing with complex and non-routine cases working as part of a team of lawyers based in London. Strong litigation experience is desired as well as proficient judicial review practice as the Litigation Lawyer will be working in a VAT team that conducts the department's complex and high value litigation relating to indirect taxes and duties.
The successful candidate will be responsible for their own caseload and dealing with tax appeals in the First Tier Tribunal, Upper Tribunal and Court of Appeal as well as claims in the Administrative Court for Judicial Review. It will be required of the Litigation Lawyer to build and maintain relationships with clients. Our client offers some great benefits such as paid lunch breaks and flexible working.

Required skills and experience of the General Litigation Lawyer
- Fully qualified Barrister/Solicitor or equivalent
- Judicial review and litigation experience is essential
- Proven experience in managing own litigation caseload
- Highly motivated with powerful oral and written communication skills
- Effective litigation and case management skills
