Group Auditor

Here at Sellick Partnership we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our clients Internal Audit & Risk Management team as a Group Auditor.

Joining the Team as a Group Auditor:

This is a great opportunity to continue to develop your leadership career in local government, within a forward-thinking and inventive team, working within an innovative and supportive organisation. You will take responsibility for reviewing and evaluating a wide range of organisational functions and services including: finance; social care; major infrastructure projects; high-value contracts; and complex partnership and joint working arrangements. The service also provides advice and consultancy services, with the aim of adding value and improving organisational governance, risk management and control. For our client, Internal Audit has a pivotal role in helping the organisation manage risks and is a positive catalyst for change.

Main Duties of the Group Auditor:

As a Group Auditor, you will undertake a complex portfolio of work. Often reporting directly to the Head of Internal Audit, you will review multi-million pound contractual arrangements, incorporating open-book assurance where possible, to ensure that these are operating in accordance with the terms of the contracts and value for money is being achieved through contract management activities. The Group Auditor will plan and manage the use of staff resources, develop staff professionally and initiate staff development to ensure team plans and targets are achieved.

Experience and Qualifications:

Applicants for the Group Auditor role will be qualified CCAB accountants or Chartered Internal Auditors. Successful applicants will be team players and great communicators, with the desire to think innovatively and strategically about how to improve the way systems and services work, challenge current processes, and work closely with senior management and key stakeholders across the organisation. Experience og auditing contracts (particularly open book contract audit) would be an advantage.

Our client is happy to talk flexible working for the right person and will consider applications for flexible arrangements such as compressed hours, part-time or term-time only working. Also, our client may offer up to a £4K of reimbursement for relocation expenses for a successful candidate moving into the County.
