Sellick partnership has been engaged to recruit a Group Commercial Finance Analyst for a fast moving, highly acquisitive, PE backed entrepreneurial service based business based in Cheshire.
This exciting opportunity is a newly created, broad and all-encompassing role reporting into the Group Commercial Finance Director. We are looking for a self-motivated and commercially strong individual to immerse yourself within all areas of the business and to add value and have an impact in the pivotal success of the business.
Working closely with the business divisions in providing genuine commercial insight and analytical support, you will have great exposure with all areas of the business; working closely with the non-finance teams, aiding them in making sound conclusions following your analysis.
Your main remit will be to provide in depth financial and commercial planning/reporting to key stakeholders and to ensure that they maximise the performance and drive initiatives for profitable growth.
You will provide decision support to the sales and marketing teams by interpreting their performance and undertaking any further analysis to understand drivers of variances to plan and help drive revenue growth. In addition, you will also provide support to the operations side of the business by providing ad-hoc financial modelling / analysis to support insight and recommendations and look for ways to constantly develop management information either by building on existing processes, or where appropriate, by working with new and automated solutions (QlikView / NPrinting).
The role holder will act as an integral part of the senior management team who will seek opportunities to add commercial insight and value through challenging on all aspects of their expenditure for cost effectiveness, sales channel profitability, return on investments, new propositions etc.
The successful applicant will ideally be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified either making their first move from practice (top4) or coming from a similar role and being able to demonstrate your commercial awareness to enable a focus on both revenue and margins to really drive commercial benefit and add value to the financials.
You will have a creative and innovative approach to problem solving and analysis; delivery orientated - able to work in pressurised environments, meet multiple deadlines and manage own priorities.
You will also be able to demonstrate business acumen and ability to gain knowledge across the breadth of a variety of functions. Good communication skills - able to translate financial information and create successful business relationships. You will also be able to take a 'big picture' view with demonstrable internal consultancy and influencing skills, while possessing a keen eye for the detail.
You will have strong Excel skills with experience of using Vlookups, Sumifs, pivot tables and graphs coupled with the ability to present data in meaningful formats. This means that you will have a high attention to detail with an analytical approach to working, be self-motivated with a proactive attitude and a strong sense of autonomy and have experience of working with / partnering teams outside of core finance.
