My client, a large multi site NHS Trust in the North East, are currently recruiting for a Capital Projects and Property Manager on a permanent basis.
The Trust is engaged in a Procure 22 major & minor works framework via the Department of Health to assist in the delivery of the Capital Programme. Experience and understanding of this process of the use of frameworks would be desirable. Candidates must have significant experience at a senior level in a complex provider organisation. Knowledge and experience of the NEC3 suite of contracts and various procurement routes are integral to this role.
You will provide a Professional Managerial Service on all building related minor new works, capital works and property issues with direct responsibility for a professional and technical workforce. You must have the ability to contribute a senior managerial input into the capital and site development and long-term Estates strategies. The successful candidate will act as service lead for the Trust's Project Management and Property Services Section.
The successful candidate should have the ability to demonstrate the achievement of ambitious targets and implement innovative solutions within financial constraints. Have highly developed technical, construction and project management skills along with strong commercial and contract management experience to deliver strategic and construction programmes.
You will provide management, structure and guidance to a team of in house professionals and project managers as well as support where required from external construction professionals.
The post holder should be academically qualified to professional level - minimum of degree in a relevant subject with in-depth experience, a Master's degree or extensive experience.
You will have extensive, in-depth experience in a similar role at a senior management level, carry Chartered membership of a recognised professional body and have high levels of awareness relating to profiling, scheduling and delivery of complex capital programmes and detailed knowledge, experience and application of project management, programme management and related systems.
The ideal candidate will be either a chartered surveyor, architect or engineer and be a member of an appropriate professional institution. You will have extensive and in depth experience in a similar role with high levels of awreness relating to profiling, scheduling and delivery of complex capital programmes.
