Head of Commercial (Contracts, Property and Planning) is required for a social enterprise firm on a permanent basis.

Our client is a niche social enterprise firm that is one of the leading legal providers for local authorities and public sector bodies within the region. Our client has a strong client base and work is continually being brought to them so this is an exciting time to join them!

As part of the senior leadership team, you will be effectively overseeing a team of 42 members of staff with 7 Principal Lawyers directly reporting into to you. The team is split across the three specialisms of contract, property and planning and have an even split in terms of team size. You will be required to undertake 30% of your time with case management and this tends to be the more complex high value public interest cases. The rest of your time will be spent on the more strategic element of the role where you will follow the vision set out in the strategic action plan and implement this in line with growing and improving of the current service.

The work within the commercial team is exceptional with numerous development and regeneration projects being undertaken in the area.


You will be attending regular meetings across the three sites which include Huntingdon, Northampton and Shefford and will be required to attend each office once a week, the rest of the week can be at the office of your choosing with home working allowed also.

The organisation is currently looking to expand its services and thus there is a small part of the role where you will be required to business develop but this will not be heavily sales orientated but more so going out and actively expanding the network at corporate events and conferences.
