Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit an Interim Head of Finance Transformation to drive forward a 'Finance Systems Migration' within an organisation which has undergone wholesale change and will be in further transition for at least the next 6 months. The role will encompass many aspects of expertise and therefore requires someone with a varied background of finance, systems, senior stakeholder and large scale project migration experience.
This role demand a mixture of technical knowledge coupled with strong interpersonal skills to partner IT, report and communicate effectively at board level and to lead on external reporting requirements. It would help, but is not altogether essential if you had a background in Financial Services ( Insurance ideally ) with a strong background in customer data and the complexities of migrating from one major system to another major system ( Oracle and / or Sage would be an essential requirement ). You must have operated or reported directly to stakeholders at board level which includes the CFO, Divisional MD and IT Director. The role has a deadline and the project will inevitably need to be time pressurised and is expected to last c6 months with other ad-hoc technical / leadership duties to the wider department to leave a legacy. The organisation is ideally looking to get this position filled asap so it will be advantageous for candidates on short notice periods.
Reporting to the board, your role will essentially be the lead Finance SME for this systems migration. You will also be the internal 'troubleshooter' to work inside the migration project for all Finance related issues which may arise. You will liaise and partner with IT, asking the right and pertinent technical questions, getting to the nub of various issues. You will then explain all technical complexities and progress in an understandable format to board stakeholders.
So a high level of technical advice to be the conduit between the technical IT migration team and communicate to the board effectively is essential to the success of this role. You will have a specialist and strong technical team and Project Manager to assist with the deliverables and to assist in the.
The key accountabilities will include:-
- To lead year a major systems migration project by utilising your strong IT knowledge and Finance background from similar past projects.
- Technical financial understanding of data migratory customer information flows.
- Translation of complex information relating to systems migration, understanding risk and impacts to clean finance data.
- Excellent communication, questioning and partnering skills between IT and Board
- Work with external stakeholders and on-site consultancy to deliver technical advice
- Ad-hoc financial reporting to senior stakeholders
The successful applicant will be a fully qualified accountant with a strong project IT, systems migration and senior management background. You will have excellent communication skills to translate complex Finance information relating to the migration to senior board members.
You will have managed specialist migration teams previously and have been the SME 'figurehead' of previous related projects. You will be a 'hands-on' 'do-er' as well as a leader and senior stakeholder conduit of information with the ability to write succinct and accurate reports regarding project updates.
