Sellick Partnership are looking for a qualified, experienced and motivated professional on behalf of a busy Local Authority based in East Anglia. The Head of Legal Services will manage the wider team, incorporating Legal, Procurement and Local Land Charges Officers. As Legal Services Manager you will also be the Council's deputy Monitoring Officer.

The successful applicant will have a comprehensive working knowledge and experience of working in a legal position providing clear advice on a wide range of complex local authority legal matters; corporate governance issues; data protection; information governance and local government legislation.

You should have a good knowledge of the issues facing local government and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written as you will be working closely with elected members.

You will have excellent leadership, persuasion and negotiation skills at all levels (internal and external), be a self-motivated and innovative person that has effective problem solving skills.

Previous line management of a multi-disciplinary service with competing demanding workloads is desirable.
