Housing Needs Caseworker
Temporary, Full Time
Housing Needs Caseworker required to join an organisation in Stevenage. My client is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is an experienced Housing Needs Caseworker to join their team on a 3 month basis.
As the Housing Needs Caseworker you will be providing advice and Homeless Prevention services under the Homelessness Reduction Act.
Key responsibilities of the Housing Needs Caseworker:
- To assist in managing demand for housing by dealing with customer expectations while offering advice and assistance and housing options. To act as a caseworker to customers with a housing need and directing them to a solution
- To conduct full enquiries and make decisions under the homelessness legislation on cases where the client is homeless or is threatened with homelessness
- To meet statutory duty with particular reference to the Homeless Reduction Act 2017 and Parts VI and VII, the Housing Act taking into account the relevant codes of guidance and case law
- To work closely with all internal teams and provide support as required, enabling an effective Housing Options Service
Required skills and experience of the Housing Needs Caseworker:
- Enhanced DBS
- Own laptop and phone
- Level 2 Safeguarding
