Housing Support Worker
Temporary, Full Time

Our client is looking for an experienced Housing Support Workers to join their team on a full time, temporary basis to be responsible for giving comprehensive housing support to elderly people, generic floating support and assisting with the overall management of a designated Sheltered Scheme.

Responsibilities of the Housing Support Worker include:

  • Offer targeted housing related support to eligible service users in order to promote their independence, support wider community integration, help people feel safe and secure within their environment, reduce debt dependency and to actively support customers into purposeful activities and where appropriate into education, training and work opportunities
  • Completing support plans and risk assessments
  • Supporting clients to live independently
  • Assisting clients in sustaining their tenancies
  • Making referrals to other agencies
  • Assisting with budgeting and claiming correct benefits
  • Working closely with third party agencies including; Social Services, Police, GP's Probation Services
  • Supporting the service user to access services in the community

Essential criteria of the Housing Support Worker includes:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant field
  • Enhanced DBS check will be required
  • Knowledge and understanding of housing related support is essential
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
