Sellick Partnership have partnered a fast growth financial services organisation on a 6 month interim HR Advisor - Risk & Controls with a specific focus on SMCR. The company are going through a transformation process as they continue to expand across the UK.

You can be based either fully remote or from any of the company offices across the UK. You will partner with the Senior SMCR Manager and the wider business in relation to Risk & Controls and Compliance. You will take sole ownership of the administration of SMCR as the current manager is redeployed on a secondment for 6 months. Managing the changes in the business controls across the senior management team, working closely with the Risk & Controls team to ensure all changes are suitable and the specific manager has accepted accountability and is then the changes are reported to the FCA.

  • Administration of SMCR
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Work with risk & controls department to test changes and report to FCA
  • Maintenance of SMCR regulatory documents
  • Deliver compliance process improvements

You will come from a HR Advisor or HR Business Partner background with some SM&CR, CoSec, Compliance or Governance experience ideally from a financial services organisation which follows the SMCR framework. This is an admin heavy role which also requires wider business partnering so a strong attention to detail and ability to manage stakeholders is vital. You do not need to be a SMCR expert by any means, however previous exposure to this area and knowledge of the processes is vital and the desire to get hands on and expand your knowledge quickly.


This is a great opportunity for a HR Advisor looking to add Senior Managers and Certification Regime specialism to their CV as the industry moves towards a standalone division of SM&CR as opposed to it being part of the generalist HR responsibility so you can really carve out a career in this area starting in this role.
