In-House Solicitor Advocate

Sellick Partnership is delighted to be working exclusively with Greater Manchester Authority to source an In-House Solcitor Advocate to join their Social Care Legal Team. This high performing legal services team has a clear vision to improve outcomes for all children and families within the community. We are looking for someone who shares their vision to add to their successful Social Care team.
Key duties of the In-House Advocate:
The successful In-House Solictor Advocate will be responsible for representation in all types of proceedings, including complex matters. Advocacy will be carried out in the Family Court in respect of the following types of hearings;
You will be an integral part of a professional legal team delivering legal advice and support to all aspects of the Council's services, you will be a positive and highly motivated person who is confident, versatile and innovative.
Ideal requirements of the In-House Advocate:
The ideal candidate will be a confident advocate with previous experience of working in a local authority. The ability to communicate effectively, build and maintain positive working relationships with the Court and all stakeholders is essential.
Although candidates with experience of working in a local authority are highly desirable due to the nature of the role, we are very interested in hearing from Childcare Lawyers from private practice, or Barristers, who have handled substantial public childcare matters in court. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive organisation and diversify skillset and experience. You will be a qualified Solicitor/Barrister/FILEX with a current Practising Certificate.
