Sellick Partnership's specialist legal team are delighted to be recruiting for an Information Governance Lawyer role within a friendly Local Authority in Sussex.

This fantastic opportunity would suit an enthusiastic Lawyer who can hit the ground running in this role and bring a hands-on approach to the work. The successful applicant will be have a thorough knowledge of a broad spectrum of Information Governance matters within the Public Sector.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Review processes and improve performance
  • Advise on FOI exemptions
  • Assist and support council officers in drafting FOI responses
  • Undertake FOI reviews
  • Create a service improvement plan to satisfy the ICO
  • Look at the council's GDPR and privacy notices

Our client is offering a competitive hourly rate of up to £45 per hour for the right candidate and is happy to accommodate flexible working arrangements, such as two days a week home-working.

The Local Authority is keen to take on an individual who enjoys working as part of a well-supported team. As the Information Governance Lawyer, you will be assisted by the Information Governance Officer.

The assignment is to start on an initial 3 to 6 months basis, with the strong possibility for extension.
