My client is a regulatory body looking to recruit an experienced Information Officer on a permanent basis to join their growing team. You will join an organisation in central Birmingham that is easily accessible and offering above average remuneration for this post, alongside other excellent benefits.
They are seeking an experienced information officer to handle a wide range of queries and requests relating to information governance. Daily tasks will include the below:
- Responding to freedom of information and subject access requests.
- Managing the disclosure log.
- Reporting breaches.
- Managing in house projects affecting the governance of this regulatory body.
- Advising, supporting and training staff.
- Supporting other compliance projects.
- Carrying out business improvement activities relating to information governance.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing a high volume of subject access requests as this will form a large part of your day to day role. This experience may have been gained in a public sector organisation, perhaps you have worked in the NHS previously or within a university? Alternatively you may have worked in a private practice environment. You will join a close team of 4 individuals who all dedicate themselves to ensuring best practice and managing information governance for the regulatory body.
This role is full time hours, 35 each week, and is based in central Birmingham. The client can accommodate a degree of flexible working. You will ideally possess a formal qualification in either data protection, GDPR or freedom of information, although this is not a pre requisite to the role.
