Opportunity to join a London Coroner's Service as an Inquest Assistant!

Sellick Partnership are working with a London Council to assist them in finding an Inquest Assistant to support the Inquest Manager of a London Coroner's Service.

The Inquest Assistant will be a resilient individual with good people skills who has worked in a legal services department. They will have dealt with bereaved families and/or sensitive matters in previous roles; experience of working on an inquest would be ideal. The Inquest Assistant should be available on short notice.


  • Assist the Inquest Manager, Senior Coroner and Assistant Coroners
  • Collate reports and prepare files
  • Assist with queries/contact relating to inquests, draft responses to legal enquiries and support in preparation of inquest cases
  • Liaise with family of the bereaved, including sharing information and helping through the process as necessary
  • Assist with Jury summoning process
  • General admin including note taking, diary management, scheduling, etc.

The Inquest Assistant will enjoy a hybrid of home and office working, office presence will be required given the nature of the role, so the Inquest Assistant should be based in the London area.
