Learning & Development Specialist required to join a fast paced, growing SME business based in Warrington. You will be part of a wider team, working together to support the learning and professional development of the organisation's workforce.

This is a brand new role. The successful person will be responsible for the set up and running of an effective Learning & Development provision. As the Learning and development specialist for the business, you will equip staff with the knowledge, practical skills and motivation to carry out their work activities effectively.

You will assess the skills and knowledge within the organisation to determine what training is required for individuals to grow and retain these skills. You will deliver the majority of training yourself, however will access to third party trainers also.

***Salary for this role is £25k FTE, this will be pro rota 2-3 days per week***

Required skills and experience of the Learning & Development Specialist:

  • Experience of devising a training strategy
  • Experience of building training programmes from scratch from the initial idea through planning, implementation, review and outcomes analysis
  • Experience of managing the delivery of training and development programmes
  • Ability to project manage and implement Learning and Development initiatives and changes
  • Track record of designing and expanding training and development programmes based on the needs of the organisation and the individual
  • GCSE Maths & English A-C or equivalent
  • Good level of English literacy and language
  • Ideally higher education with focus on Learning & Development or associated subject
  • IT literate to intermediate level on MS office packages
  • Previous experience as an L&D Officer in an SME organisation would be preferable
  • Experience of working in the manufacturing sector would be advantageous
  • Track record of designing and expanding training and development programmes based on the needs of the organisation and the individual
  • Ability to project manage and implement Learning and development initiatives and changes
  • Self-starter who is able to initiate action and take responsibility for problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop credibility and trust at all levels of the organisation
  • Must work under own initiative to deadlines
  • Excellent team player, adaptable and able to react to a changing environment
  • Flexible and reliable
