Our client, an East Midlands based Local Authority is seeking a Legal Assistant to support their Legal Services team on a locum basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Legal Assistant with experience in Adult Social Care or Education Law to join a vibrant team.
The successful candidate will be able to hit the ground running and manage their own workload as well as assisting Lawyers within in the team, duties may include;

  • Providing advice and assistant to the legal teams
  • Matters of education law, school advice and special education needs
  • Matters of proceedings, safeguarding and mental capacity
  • Section 117 disputes
  • Drafting court and tribunal applications
  • Instructing and evaluating counsel
  • Preparing witness statements and bundles

The client is looking for someone to come in on a full time basis for a minimum of 3 months with the expectations for the contract to be extended. The role can be set up to be 100% remote working
