Legal Officer

Permanent- Full time

Salary up to £27,906

This is a great opportunity for a Legal Officer to join a progressive Local Authority and be part of a supportive and dynamic legal services team. The role will manage a varied and busy caseload of public law matters including:

  • Undertaking debt recovery work
  • Preparation and issue of proceedings in the County Court in relation to debt, civil proceedings and possession cases
  • Supporting the Council in its regulatory and enforcement functions
  • Preparing notices, agreements and certificates in relation to planning, regulatory and enforcement functions
  • Undertaking research and providing administrative support

Person specification

The successful candidate will have a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards the job and show a willingness to learn new and different tasks. They will also work well as part of a wider team as well as to their own initiative The Legal Officer will have at least 12 months practical legal experience and have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
