Litigation Lawyer required for a 3-6 month period to join a local authority based in Kent
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Litigation Lawyer to join a Local Authority in Kent. Our client is looking to hear from experienced Litigation Lawyer with a background in the public sector, however those from private practise are encouraged to apply.
You would need to be conversant with judicial review cases and the process and deadlines associated with them; this will include:
- Pre-action protocol
- Defending claims
- Monitoring diaries
- Instructing high court
The successful candidate will be the main interaction between council, counsel and clients. You will liaise with barristers, lawyers and courts. Planning and licensing experience is essential as these are the main source of the council's Judicial Review challenges. Experience in Anti-Social Behaviour, Enforcement, Injunction and Repossession experience would be a benefit.
There is no expectation of having to conduct high court advocacy, as there will be instructed counsel in all matters, lower court advocacy may be required but this is not essential.
We encourage interested applicants to apply immediately to be considered for short listing. Alternatively should you require further information or wish to discuss your suitability before applying please contact Amy Swain on 0161 834 1642, alternatively via email on firstname.lastname@example.org.
