Salary: £27,394 - £31,288
My client is a County Council which is seeking to appoint a litigation lawyer on a permanent basis to support the Council's enforcement and employment policies. Working within a litigation environment, you will demonstrate a sound understanding of criminal litigation, civil litigation, employment law procedures and local government law. Experience in any of these areas will be considered. The post holder will be responsible for conducting their own caseload, working with the client teams to ensure that the Council delivers its functions accordingly. You will conduct your own advocacy at the Magistrate's Court, which is located within walking distance of my client's offices.
As a permanent Litigation Lawyer you will be exposed to an exciting and varied caseload, covering diverse areas of litigation including criminal prosecutions, civil litigation and employment law. This position offers great career opportunities with varied, challenging legal work plus the opportunity to advise in a political environment. This is an ideal opportunity for those looking to make their next career move and join a collaborative and supportive team. My client is looking for a proactive candidate who is seeking to develop and hone their existing skills. They offer a range of training facilities and as such this role would be suitable for a newly qualified solicitor (or equivalent). Demonstrable litigation skills gained from within any area of the Law, alongside a 'can do' attitude are the only prerequisite skills needed.
You will join a legal team who support the Council in carrying out all of its functions whether service delivery, development of strategy or delivery of major developments and initiatives. The service takes the lead for litigation on behalf of the local authority as well as working proactively with services to provide comprehensive legal advice. It is also an opportunity to work in a beautiful county for an authority committed to ongoing improvement in all aspects of its organisation and service delivery.
