Litigation Locum needed!
My client is a large local authority that is seeking a locum generalist litigation solicitor (or equivalent) to join their team. This role shall last for an initial 6 month period and is part time. The ideal candidate will be available to work a 3 day week, but those seeking 4 days may also be considered.
You must have previous local government experience and have considerable post qualification experience in litigation. You will be joining a large and supportive team of 10 litigators that specialise in a broad range of areas including planning, highways, housing, licensing, compulsory purchase, village greens, trading standards, environmental health and other regulatory and contentious matters. You will be tasked with undertaking work on behalf of 2 councils and also a police force.
Applicants must be able to display a minimum of five years' experience (and preferably more) in a local authority or other public sector body in one or more of the areas of work dealt with by the team. Experience of committees, complaints investigations, information law and advocacy will be advantages. All working is currently remote, except for occasional court appearances for advocates, and IT competence is essential. Arrangements for a significant degree of remote working may be negotiated even following the end of the current national emergency.
