Locum Adult social care lawyer is required to join a local authority in Hertfordshire for a period of 3 to 6 months initally and the view to extend thereafter. Our client is happy for the candidate to conduct the work remotely with the view to following government guidelines thereafter and a discussion around office presence.
You will be undertaking work on behalf of a County Council and the work will be a range of matters on behalf of the council but they also conduct work on behalf of CCGs and NHS bodies in the area therefore the work is varied and interesting.
Please see some of the duties highlighted below;
- Undertaking a caseload of Court of Protection matters, deprivation of liberty, ordinary residence matters, no recourse to public funds, mental health and mental capacity matters
- To provide legal advice and assistance to the Health and Community Services and Children's Services Departments to ensure that the decisions made by the client departments are within the legal boundaries; accord with County Council policy; and achieve their aims and objectives efficiently. There will be a particular focus on adult social care advice.
- To provide advice to the Public Health Department if required by the Principal Lawyer ( Adults , Children and Education)
- To provide legal advice and assistance if require out of normal working hours to Approved Mental Health Professionals in relation to mental health matters.
