Urgent requirement for Childcare Lawyers to join a local authority based in Surrey on a locum basis for 3 months with the possibility for extension thereafter.

Our client has seen a 40% increase in cases from last year and as such this has created significant pressure on the team as are many authorities. Due to an increase in their caseloads, they are requiring a Childcare Lawyer to assist with new cases being brought to the team. Such matters are mainly surrounding S31 and general care proceedings but they also have complex matters such as non accidental injury.

Candidates must be experienced within public childcare law and ideally local authority experience as there will be minimal supervision and you will be expected to hit the ground running. You will be expected where necessary to undertake the more routine case management and first hearings by telephone or skype as required by the Courts however the more complex advocacy is instructed to counsel.
