An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Housing Disrepair Paralegal to join a well respected London Council on a locum, hybrid basis.

This friendly and collaborative local authority legal team is looking for an enthusiastic Housing Paralegal to be an integral part of their team. The successful candidate will be working closely with the Senior Lawyers and will be required to assist with housing disrepair work. You will be well supported in the role and will also have the freedom to run your own small disrepair caseload and develop professionally.

To assume the role of locum Housing Disrepair Paralegal, you must have prior experience of working in housing law, ideally for a Local Authority.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting solicitors in the Housing Team
  • Conduct of a personal workload of disrepair and general civil cases while complying with applicable time limits
  • Obtaining copies of documents requested by the solicitors, for example, copies of tenancy agreements, tenancy files, etc.
  • Dealing with Letters of Claims
  • Drafting, preparing, and collating: pleadings, witness statements, summonses, complaints, indictments, and other legal documentation
