Prosecutions Lawyer is required to join a local authority based in the Northern Home Counties for a period of 3 months initially and the view for extension thereafter to start as soon as possible.
You will be undertaking the role remotely however you will be required to attend the Magistates Court in person which usually is once a week/ once every two weeks. You will be conducting a full caseload of prosecution matters on behalf of the local authority. Our client is seeking someone with previous local authority experience ideally as you will be undertaking a caseload of existing matters whilst picking up new matters. The role has arisen due to a permanent vacancy cover.
Prosecution matters will range from environmental, planning, health and safety, housing and fraud to name a few. Hearings are currently being undertaken remotely therefore the role will be done completely remotely until the Courts open post lockdown.
Due to the nature of the role, our client is keen to hear from public sector candidates or candidates that have undertaken prosecutions work on behalf of local authorities.
We encourage interested applicants to apply immediately to be considered for short listing. Alternatively should you require further information or wish to discuss your suitability before applying please contact Chelsey Newsom in our Manchester office for a confidential discussion.
