A locum Senior Legal Assistant is required by a well respected Local Authority childcare legal team. The role will be for a minimum of 3 months with a likely extension beyond this.

The role will be to provide legal support to a small number of lawyers within the team in regards to child protection law. This will include:

  • Setting up remote Court hearings
  • Requesting Court directed disclosure
  • Liaising with children's services colleagues
  • Liaising with external agencies
  • Preparing and updating court bundles
  • Instructing experts
  • Instructing counsel

The successful Senior Legal Assistant will have previous experience gained within a similar role in the field of child protection. We are also looking for applicants to have a good level of education. Good interpersonal skills are essential as are ICT skills with usual Microsoft Office packages and the ability to be administratively self-sufficient.
