Exceptional career opportunity for a skilled Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join a prestigious central London council on a 12-month locum contract as their in-house Major Construction Projects Lawyer.

My client is seeking an experienced Major Construction Projects Lawyer to give high quality legal advice to the Council and their various departments.

In return, the successful Lawyer will receive a 12 month locum contract with extremely competitive pay of up to £64 per hour (paid via umbrella company). Furthermore, you will have a caseload of high profile, politically sensitive and high value cases.

Responsibilities include:

  • To draft, prepare and advise on:
    • terms and conditions for a variety of construction and related contracts;
    • procurement procedures and documents;
    • invitation to tender/negotiate;
    • standstill letters;
    • clarification questions;
    • contract award notices etc.
  • To give high quality commercial construction legal advice to the Councils and their various departments;
  • To undertake complex and routine legal matters without day-to-day supervision and to manage time and responsibilities accordingly;
  • To negotiate the most advantageous terms with external parties and attending meetings with Government Departments, other Local Authorities, other departments of the Councils, key stakeholders;
  • To draft and advise on reports for the Cabinet, Cabinet Members, Council Committees and Sub-Committees.
