Management Accountant required to join a reputable Housing Organisation based in Yorkshire. My client is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is an experienced Management Accountant to work within the Capital Accounts Team on a full-time, permanent basis.

My Client is looking to recruit for a Management Accountant to join the Financial Services Team. This person will deliver a range of accountancy services and provide high quality advice to stakeholders and senior managers. I am looking for someone to provide proactive financial support in delivering business objectives, and analyse and interpret our financial data, produce reports and provide transparency in financial performance.

Applicants must have experience of managing and maintaining accounting systems, periodic reporting, reconciliations, maintaining ledgers, preparing profit and loss, statements of financial positions and cash flows, with the core knowledge of fixed asset registers and capitalisation rules and regulations.

A qualified accountant status (ICMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA), AAT, or have gained significant senior financial management experience, with excellent leadership and customer service skills

The Management Accountant will:

  • Deliver a wide range of accountancy services to the business, including providing high quality advice to stakeholders and senior managers.
  • Provide a first class financial services function; including day to day maintenance of the fixed assets register, the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial analysis for all principle expenditure lines and transactions relating to Asset Management.
  • Build and develop close relationships with budget holders.
  • Prepare, analyse and interpret financial data and produce transparent reports based on analysis.
  • Establish and adhere to budgeting, control and financial management systems, and assisting with the development of systems and procedures.
  • Delivery of month end account reports and assistance in year end accounts.
  • Be responsible for a small team and all associated duties including recruitment, supporting and developing team members and delegating any necessary tasks.

Ideally the Management Accountant will have:

  • Knowledge and experience of managing and maintaining accounting systems, periodic reporting, reconciliations, maintaining ledgers, preparing profit and loss, statements of financial positions and cash flows.
  • The core knowledge of fixed asset registers and capitalisation rules and regulations.
  • Computer literate with a sound understanding of maintaining financial records and taking responsibility for external and internal audit processes.
  • The ability to communicate in a clear, concise, logical and informative manner in order to build relationships with colleagues.
  • Self confidence with personal drive and tact.
  • The ability to be flexible and work with change as part of a team.

Required skills and experience of the Management Accountant:

  • Significant experience in a senior role within a financial department of a complex organisation, providing advice to senior managers.
  • Financial services qualification (ICMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA, AAT), or have gained significant senior financial management experience covering the relevant disciplines.
  • Experience preparing annual budgets, financial projections and final accounts.
  • Working knowledge of Windows based IT systems; Excel spreadsheets, and financial and operational systems for example logistics and stock control.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of operational processes and systems and how they integrate into and drive the reported financial results.
  • Proven experience of designing and implementing process changes, streamlining working practices in order to deliver savings.
