Multi Skilled Operative

Multi Skilled Operative

Full Time (40 hours per week)
£28'666 p.a

Our client, a well-established Midland Based Housing Association are looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Operative to their Responsive Repairs team on a permanent full time basis, to carry out high quality maintenance work

Main Responsibilities of the Multi Skilled Operative include:

  • Carrying out all the traditional duties of a multi-skilled tradesman, including plumbing, carpentry, plastering and painting
  • Attending specified work
  • Carrying out jobs according to instructions, keeping material usage to a minimum
  • Reporting to the Repairs Supervisor any additional items or defects encountered during the course of day-to-day work
  • Collecting materials from suppliers
  • Ensuring that vehicles, equipment and plant used are kept in good, clean working order and serviced regularly
  • Keeping accurate daily and weekly records of work carried out on job tickets and timesheets or portable computer, in accordance with procedures
  • Maintaining a professional and cordial relationship with tenants whose homes are visited
  • Participating in standby duties for the section on a rota basis, as and when required

Requirements of the Multi Skilled Operative include:

  • A relevant City and Guilds or NVQ qualification
  • A full clean UK driving licence
  • Experience in maintenance, preferably with a social housing background
  • Secondary skills within other trades is essential
  • Working knowledge of current building regulations and construction industry safety regulations
