Payroll Officer

£27,000 - £28,000

Permanent, Full-time

Liverpool (hybrid-working)

Payroll Officer required to join a not for profit organisation based in Liverpool. My client is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is an experienced Payroll Officer to join their friendly and exciing organisation on a full-time, permanent basis with the opportunity for hybrid-working.

As the Payroll Officer you will be working with the Financial Accountant and will be respomsible for all monthly payroll including compliance alongside other duties below:

Key responsibilities of the Payroll Officer

  • Process monthly payroll for over 300 staff members
  • Ensure all payroll deductions (PAYE, pensions etc.)
  • Process starters, leavers and any contract changes
  • Compare overtime payments on a monthly basis
  • Complete monthly reconciliations
  • Be first point of contact for payroll enquiries from staff, external parties and HMRC
  • Develop wider finance skills in order to provide cover when necessary

Required skills and experience of the Payroll Officer

  • Recent and significant Payroll experience
  • Strong knowledge of HMRC rules, PAYE/NI contributions and pension requirements
  • Ability to analyse complex information and data
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office including Excel skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
