An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Principal Adult Lawyer to join a social enterprise firm on a permanent basis.
Our client is a niche social enterprise firm that is one of the leading legal providers for local authorities and public sector bodies within the region. Our client has a strong client base and work is continually being brought to them hence the need to expand their current team. This team currently undertake work on behalf of local authorities, NHS and CCGs.
As the Principal Adult Lawyer, you will be an experienced adult lawyer, preferably with previous management experience as you will be managing a team of seven lawyers however our client is happy to consider someone who is looking for their next step up in their career. You will be joining a team that is currently expanding due to increasing workloads and the team really vary in experience.
Due to the complex nature of this area of law, our client is looking for someone who can challenge decisions and provide more than one solution in aiding the team to bring about the best possible outcome for their clients.
You will be undertaking a caseload of the more complex matters whilst overseeing your team and delegating where needed. The team undergo a wide range of cases which can include mental capacity, mental health, inquest work including that of court of protection and community care matters. There is also changes to policy work and challenges in relation to finance resource to care so there is a fantastic breadth of matters to get involved with. You will be required to manage client expectations and work with clients to ensure a smooth running of the service. You will report to a wider Head of Service and be required to meet your own billable targets whilst making sure the team are performing to theirs.
Our client is happy to consider candidates on either a 3-5 day week basis and can offer home working. There is an expectation at times to travel between offices but this is certainly manageable.
