Our client, a local authority based in Worcestershire is searching for a hands-on Planning Compliance Officer to join their housing development team.

Duties and responsibilities of the Planning Compliance Officer include:

  • Proactively monitoring planning developments
  • Monitoring planning conditions and requirements of legal agreements
  • Proactively providing advice to developers where appropriate
  • Investigate planning breaches
  • Process 'discharge of condition' notices
  • Liaising with the legal departments
  • Representing Housing and Planning Services at meetings
  • Responding to pre-application approaches
  • Negotiating and liaising with developers and agents
  • Providing advice to local Ward Members

Essential experience required:

  • Relevant experience in a planning and/or regulation within a public sector environment
  • Knowledge of planning regulations and/or regulatory enforcement
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to undertake occasional evening and weekend work
  • Ability to negotiate outcomes
  • Working knowledge of Windows and MS Office
