Sellick Partnership are delighted to be recruiting to a large shared legal service, for an interim Practice Director within East Anglia.
This role will appeal to candidates from a public and private sector background, who has a legal qualification and some exposure at a senior management level. You will be joining a forward thinking management team, overseeing 5 legal teams, who are committed to service improvement and providing top class services to senior officers and Elected members.
The technical skills and knowledge are really important, but equally the Head of Legal and Corporate Governance will be decisive, collaborative, empowering, clear sighted, prepared to challenge and take risks and be really adept at building effective relationships and partnerships.
The successful candidate will have support from the Chief Legal Officer, therefore this role would also be ideal for a legal professional who has up to date deputy monitoring officer and governance experience.
Practice Director/Head of Law duties:
- Dealing with and managing the stakeholders (ie the districts and county)
- Cover own costs by doing some fee earning, whether that is contracts, planning or d/p, FOI, contracts or litigation
- Deal with highly political issues
- Ensure that decision making arrangements are of the highest order and put into place effective governance and decision making frameworks
- Actively and purposefully facilitating ambitious company growth plans by identifying opportunities and building
