An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Pricing Analyst to align their skills with a leading General Insurance brand based in Bristol. Our client have recently undergone an exciting period of Data Science driven transformation and as such are looking to add a Pricing Analyst to their Personal Lines Pricing team. Strong graduates may also be considered.

Responsibilities of the Pricing Analyst

  • Support the delivery and streamlining of 'best practice' pricing models and data evaluation objectives
  • Expand and develop upon Gradient Boosting Machine (GBMs) and related pricing capability
  • Support management and monitoring initiatives through statistical / actuarial investigations involving rate actions and impact assessments
  • Adjust and evaluate existing pricing models
  • Build models such as Lifetime Value models from scratch
  • Work across our client's Personal Lines products, primarily Motor
  • Support the embedment of processes and procedural documentation

Skills and experience of the Pricing Analyst

  • 2.1 or above in a degree in relevant numeric subject such as Mathematics
  • Previous General Insurance experience is advantageous
  • A good understanding of Personal Lines Pricing techniques is highly advantageous
  • Previous experience of using software such as Radar is preferable
  • A good understanding of software such as Emblem, SAS and SQL is also advantageous
