Principal Governance Lawyer

Principal Governance Lawyer required to join a well-regarded London local authority on a locum basis to assist with governance related matters. Our client is looking for somebody with local government background in a similar, senior level role to hit the ground running.
This contract will be an initial 3 - 6 months, with likelihood to be on-going and long term. They are looking to pay a daily rate of £500, umbrella pay. You will be working predominantly remotely, with some ad-hoc office attendance as and when required.
Key responsibilities of the Principal Governance Lawyer:
- Supporting the Monitoring Officers in strengthening corporate governance and ethics
- Dealing with Code of Conduct complaints
- Leading on public law matters across various legal disciplines at multiple sites
- Attending committee meetings to provide legal and governance advice
- Contributing to the strategic management of Legal Services
- Flexible working
- Extremely competitive daily rate
- On-going, long-term contract
