Principal Planning Lawyer
£50 - 60 per hour
A popular Local Authority in the South East is seeking an experienced Principal Planning Lawyer to join their growing and supportive team. The role is advertised on a locum basis for a period of 14 months to cover maternity leave with the view to a permanent contract thereafter. Our client spans across three different offices, however, this particular post is to work as a principal property lawyer completely remotely; but for the occasional, monthly planning committee meeting.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Principal Planning Lawyer to join a supportive team on a full or part time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for either overseeing line management responsibilities, working solely on more complex work or a mixture of the two for the property team; which will also include appraisals and 1-2-1s.
The Principal Planning Lawyer would ideally have the following characteristics;
- Manage your own caseload of the more complex and high profile planning and highway matters
- Support, manage and develop the planning lawyers within the team should you wish to develop your management skills
- To continue to build relationships with existing clients and also seek out avenues for building on new business for the service
- Working with huge urban refurbishments in the Cambridgeshire area, minerals and waste planning work in Northamptonshire and enforcement and injunction work in Bedfordshire
Local authority experience is preferable however our client is happy to consider private practice and public sector candidates with strong planning experience looking to get into management or work on complex matters exclusively.
We encourage interested applicants to apply immediately to be considered for short listing. Alternatively should you require further information or wish to discuss your suitability before applying please contact Lewis Dainty in our Manchester office for a confidential discussion.
