A private sector housing lawyer is sought at a west London Borough Council. This position is initially a locum contract, 3 to 6 months, with the view to extend.
The private sector housing lawyer will have a range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Leading on all aspects of the Council's private sector housing cases and have conduct of cases in all Courts, Tribunals, etc.
- Liaising with and advising the Council's related bodies
- Preparing casework for submission at the various Courts and other bodies
- Prosecuting private sector housing offences
In terms of qualifications and experience; the successful private sector housing lawyer will be a qualified Solicitor, or equivalent; will possess knowledge and experience of private sector housing legal experience (written and advocacy) in the First Tier Tribunal; and, have experience of conducting cases through the Courts and Tribunals.
Knowledge of private sector housing prosecution legal work is desirable but not essential.
