Procurement Manager

£300/£375 day

Procurement Manager required to join a well-known Public- Sector organisation who are undertaking a review of its corporate and commissioning arrangements as it seeks to improve purchasing processes, contract management and compliance to embed a new commissioning model across the business to deliver better outcomes. My client is looking for an enthusiastic and pro-active individual who is an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis. They are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to:

Key responsibilities of the Procurement Manager

  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities and competing project priorities within agreed timescales. Embed a new commissioning model across Wirral.
  • Support system led procurement process development as we implement a new ERP system.
  • Improve organisational compliance with purchasing and contract management processes.
  • Support a service review of the procurement function.
  • Apply best practice, and risk management techniques.
  • Design and implement the procurement processes.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and service level agreements.
  • Undertake supplier and spend analysis in line with policies and procedures.
  • Highlight risks and issues to support management of strategic business risk.

Required skills and experience of the Procurement Manager

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Proven experience of demonstrating procurement activities
  • Strong organisation skills with ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Good communication skills with ability to build strong relationships.
  • CIPS qualified
