Role: Procurement Specialist

Location: Birmingham 4 days in the office and 1 day at home

Salary: £38k to £45k

Sellick Partnership are currently looking to recruit a Procurement Specialist for our NHS client in Birmingham.

Job Purpose for the Procurement Specialist:

  • The post holder will be part of the Procurement team and take a pivotal role in delivering significant cost improvements in a creative, strategic and innovative way
  • To work with the procurement team, nurses and other clinical staff to identify products where quality can be maintained or enhanced and costs can be reduced
  • To take responsibility for the delivery of specified clinical procurement

Key responsibilities for the Procurement Specialist:

  • Critically review current purchasing policy, practice and procedures and identify opportunities to improve value for money
  • Working as a liaison between the Procurement team and clinicians teams
  • Work with the Head of Procurement to review all clinical non pay spend and identify and develop divisional medical procurement projects
  • Develop close working relationships with the relevant internal divisional managers and senior management team
  • Work with identified clinical experts within specialities to secure commitment to agreed purchasing plans and or product formularies
  • Responsibility for making product change recommendations based on high value
  • Influence clinical procurement procedures across the divisions and ensuring that change is managed through a quality impact assessment process

Person specification for the Procurement Specialist:

  • Public Sector experience would be desirable but not essential
  • Specialist Strategic procurement knowledge
  • CIPs qualification
